In Madhupur Upazila, land preparation, seedbed preparation, rice seedling planting, fertilizer-pesticide spraying and crop harvesting-threshing-threshing are now all done by machines. The use of modern agricultural machinery has increased. As a result, the agricultural landscape of rural Bengal is changing. Primitive agriculture is becoming modern agriculture.

Now from the preparation of agricultural land to threshing and drying of paddy, everything is done by machines. Due to this, agriculture has entered the mechanized age. As the cost of crop production has come down. The time limit for harvesting crops is also decreasing. Crops can be harvested at the right time. As a result, harvest time is reduced. It also reduces crop damage. Crops are protected from natural disasters.

Farmers are getting more crops due to a reduction in storage wastage. Farmers' profits are also increasing due to a reduction in production costs, said agriculture officials.

According to the Agriculture Department, rice can be planted in 2.5 bighas of land per hour through a rice transplanter machine. It saves labor, time and money for the farmer. It is known that the cost of planting can be reduced by 50 to 75 percent if the device is used for planting seedlings. Again, paddy cutting and threshing are being done with few workers. Combined harvester is harvesting four bigha of paddy per hour. From seed to threshing, much is done mechanically.

Ariful Islam (25), a shopkeeper of Pirojpur village in Madhupur upazila of Tangail, said that he saw bullock carts and plowing with cows when he was very young. Now plowing with cows is no longer seen in their area. There are no bullock carts or buffalo carts. The machine is tampered with. Eshak Ali (48) said that it took a long time from land preparation to planting. Again, due to the labor shortage, we had to face the problem of harvesting paddy. With the passage of time, the increase in the use of machinery in the last few years is going to reduce the suffering of the farmers. Farmers no longer have to wait for workers. As a result of the use of agricultural machinery, several bighas of land are being cultivated in a short period of time. Farmer Jalal Uddin (30) said that in their Pahariya area, it was not possible to cultivate with cow plows between tree stumps and banana pineapple stumps. There, by plowing one foot deep in a short time with a tractor, seedlings can be planted in a few days. As a result, time and production costs have been reduced.

Chanwar Hossain, a farmer of Garobazar who received the Bangabandhu Agricultural Medal, said that at one time the land was kept fallow for 3/4 years for grazing cows. There was one crop in 1/2 year. Now agriculture is diversifying and commercializing. As a result, crop diversification is coming in agriculture. Production is increasing. has improved He said that agriculture will progress further if there is a system of processing along with mechanization. He also commented that if drones can be used for pesticide use, public health will be free of risk.

In this regard, Madhupur Upazila Agriculture Officer Al Mamun Rasel said that there is a revolution in agriculture as a result of agricultural mechanization. Crops are protected from natural calamities along with economic prosperity, increase in employment, prevention of time wastage. Starting from seed, threshing is done mechanically. The government is providing a 50% subsidy for mechanization in plains and 70% for coastal areas. It is hoped that the arrangement of pesticide spray through drones will be done soon.
