GEAPS Announces 2025-2026 Board Leadership
Bob Horvat is Board President; Austin Carpenter is Chairman
Minneapolis, MN – June 23, 2025 – With a new fiscal year comes new leadership. GEAPS is pleased to announce Bob Horvat will serve as GEAPS’ board president. Horvat, a member of GEAPS since 2010, is the manufacturing technology lead and engineer at Cargill, Inc. in Wayzata, MN.
“Throughout my career, I’ve seen firsthand the value GEAPS brings to individuals and companies alike,” said Horvat. “I look forward to working with our dedicated members, volunteers, and staff to grow the organization, strengthen our educational programs, and build an even more connected community across the grain handling and processing industries.”
Austin Carpenter, who served as GEAPS president for the past year, now assumes the role of Chairman of the Board. Carpenter is a sales manager for Clear Creek & Associates, Inc. in Goshen, IN. He is the first GEAPS Associate member to hold the president title on the International Board of Directors.

“Serving as GEAPS’ president this past year has been an incredibly fulfilling experience. I’m proud of the momentum we’ve built, especially around educational growth, increased chapter engagement, and a renewed focus on facility memberships,” said Carpenter. “Watching our organization evolve, launch programs like NextGen Path, and hit record attendance back-to-back years at Exchange has shown how strong and forward-thinking GEAPS has become. Strategic education planning brought tremendous value to chapter events, leading to an uptick in attendance this year. Membership continues to climb as well, meaning more folks have access to the great resources GEAPS has to offer. It’s been an honor to be part of that progress.”
Jon Brown of MKC was elected to the office of International Second Vice President. As he succeeds to this role, Adam Geers of Michigan Agricultural Commodities will be appointed to fill the director vacancy left. Others elected to the board include Scott Biel of MKC, Sean Farrell of The Delong Company, Charlie Hurburgh of Iowa State University, Danny Lien of Ag Processing Inc., Bob Reis of Electro-Sensors, Inc., Matthew Schmitt of Keen Project Solutions, and Chad Wolf of Mass Flow Sourcing.
GEAPS encourages all members to get involved with the organization through volunteer opportunities. See the complete list of the GEAPS Board of Directors
