The prices of essential commodities are skyrocketing. Prices of various products including rice, pulses and flour have been going up for three consecutive months. The income of lower and middle class people is limited, so they are suffering.

The BBS says inflation has risen in both rural and urban areas. Inflation in the city rose to 5.39 percent in April. In the previous month it was 5.31 percent. In addition, food inflation rose to 4.87 percent in April from 4.80 percent in the previous year. Non-food inflation rose to 5.96 percent from 5.87 percent in the previous month.
