The number of the middle class in the country is increasing. By
2030, Bangladesh will be the ninth-largest consumer market in the world. For
this reason, United States Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter D. Haas said Bangladesh is a place of
special interest to US companies.
Peter D. Haas said these things at a press conference organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh (AmCham) at Hotel Sonargaon in the capital last Tuesday (October 25, 2022). AmCham President Syed Ershad Ahmed, Vice President Syed Mohammad Kamal, Executive Director Shahadat Hossain, and member Mirza Sajib Raihan were also present at this time.
The three-day US Trade Show will begin tomorrow at Sonargaon
Hotel in the capital and will continue till October 29. A press conference was
organized on this occasion. Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi is scheduled to
inaugurate the fair for US companies.
In the press conference, US Ambassador Peter Haas said that
in the last five decades, Bangladesh has developed a strong partnership in commercial relations with the United States. Bangladeshi businessmen will learn about the high-quality products and services of US companies through
the fair. At the same time, US investors' contribution to Bangladesh's economic growth will also be recognized.
US companies are showing interest in several fields
including renewable energy, digital economy, service sector, agricultural
products, and infrastructure in Bangladesh, said Peter Haas.
