Currently, the annual liquid milk production capacity in the country is 15.538 million tons. The annual demand for liquid milk is 16.233 million tons.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid gave this information in response to a question from BNP MP Abul Kalam of Comilla-9 constituency during the Question and Answer session of the National Parliament on Tuesday (July 7, 2026). The question and answer session was held under the chairmanship of Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmed.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister Mohammad Amin Ur Rashid, in response to a question from MP Abu Talib of Jhenaidah-4 constituency, said that the process of verifying and updating the list of fish farms across the country is underway. The number of registered fish farms in the country is currently 18.3565. He said that the government has a plan to bring extinct and abandoned haors, baors and other water bodies under fish farming after renovating them. The Department of Fisheries has prepared a DPP for the 'Community-Based Fisheries Resource Management Project in Selected Baidoa Areas'.
