Open soybean oil is now selling for between Tk. 95 to 97 per liter. In January, it was between Tk. 85. The price of small bottles of soybean oil is also high. Abul Kashem, a wholesaler of caravan bazaar, said the maximum retail price (MRP) of a liter bottle is Tk.110. It was sold for Tk. 100. An official of the food department said that the government has reduced the price of rice in the open market by selling rice (OMS) to Tk. 10 per kg.
