Rakibur Rahman, chief extension officer of Pran Dairy, said, "Farmers are in trouble now that food hotels, tea and sweet shops are closed and many people have stopped buying milk." But we have continued to collect milk. We are still collecting the same amount of milk as we normally collect from contract farmers. ' He further said that at present there are five centers or hubs of Pran Dairy in Chatmohar of Pabna, Gurudaspur of Natore, Shahjadpur and Baghabari of Sirajganj and Rangpur. There are 101 milk collection and cooling centers under these hubs. At the milk collection and cooling center, the farmers are maintaining the social distance and supplying milk in compliance with all kinds of hygiene rules. Depending on the amount of fat in the milk, this milk is being bought at Tk. 38-45 per liter. Kamruzzaman Kamal, Marketing Director, Pran-RFL Group, said, “Corona has caused some problems for farmers in marketing milk in the beginning. However, after the government has taken necessary steps to keep the supply and marketing of essential food items related to agriculture and dairy normal, we are now able to easily hand over the products of farmers and ranchers to the consumers. This is benefiting marginal farmers. ' He added that the demand for milk is usually a little higher during the month of Ramadan. In this situation the farmers will be able to overcome the loss. In the current situation, many buyers are not able to buy milk properly. Keeping their words in mind, Pran has introduced home delivery facility. Pasteurized milk, yoghurt, buttermilk, butter, cheese are delivered to the house through its own salesmen. Source: Online/SZK
