Ambassador Jeffrey Gerrish, who led U.S. negotiations for the U.S.-China Economic and Trade Agreement, will join the Dec. 9, 2020 CEC General Session webcast as a featured keynote speaker.
Ambassador Gerrish will reflect on the agreement’s potential to transform the nations’ trading relationship as well as provide intriguing insider knowledge from his experiences during the negotiations.
As second in command at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, Ambassador Gerrish formulated and implemented U.S. trade policy for Asia, Europe, and the Middle East and led critically important trade negotiations. In addition to serving as lead negotiator for the U.S.-China Economic and Trade Agreement, Ambassador Gerrish played a key role in the negotiation or renegotiation of several other major trade agreements, including the U.S.-Japan Trade Agreement, the U.S.-Japan Digital Trade Agreement, the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement and the U.S.-Korea Free Trade Agreement.
