Farewell meeting of the Turkish Ambassador with the President

Yesterday Wednesday (December 28, 2022), the Turkish Ambassador to Bangladesh Mr. Mustafa Osman Turan had a farewell meeting with the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Md. Abdul Hamid.

President's Press Secretary Mr. Zainal Abedin said in the briefing that during the meeting at Bangabhaban in the evening, the outgoing Ambassador of Turkey expressed his gratitude to the President for his cooperation in fulfilling his duties.

During the meeting, Bangladesh's relationship with Turkey has been long-standing, the President said that there is ample opportunity to develop relations between Bangladesh and Turkey in various fields, including trade and investment.


The Head of State stressed an exchange of visits at the public-private level to utilize these opportunities between the two countries.

He thanked the government and the people of Turkey for their cooperation in the Rohingya issue.

The President hopes that Turkey will continue to pressure Myanmar to repatriate the forcibly displaced Rohingyas in the future.

The President thanked the outgoing Ambassador of Turkey for the successful performance of his duties.

President's Office Secretary Mr.  Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salah Uddin Islam, and Secretary Attached Mr. Wahidul Islam Khan were present on the occasion.
