Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Land O’Lakes Venture37

[caption id="attachment_6527" align="aligncenter" width="1014"]Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Land O’Lakes Venture37 Picture: Collected[/caption] Last Sunday (January 31, 2021) a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Land O’Lakes Venture37 and Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) under the Ministry of Food in Dhaka. The MoU is aimed at improving the overall food security environment with BFSA and increasing market access by facilitating agro-food industries to adopt international food security and quality measures. Md.  Maksudur Rahman, country director of Land O’Lakes Venture37 and Abdun Naser Khan, deputy secretary of Bangladesh Food Safety Authority (BFSA) signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations at the BFSA office. According to the MoU, Land O’Lakes Venture37 will mobilize volunteers from the USA to provide specialized technical assistance to help achieve increased agricultural and agro-food processing quality, productivity and profitability. It also includes an enhanced application of food safety practices and systems, increased know-how and application of global market programs of Global Food Safety Initiatives requirements for food production and processing, strengthened agricultural and food processing institutions. The BFSA is an autonomous national food safety regulatory body that acts as a statutory body. It was formed in 2015. Land O’Lakes Venture37 funded by USAID is implementing the Farmer to Farmer Food Safety and Quality (F2F FSQ) program to address critical issues of food safety and quality with highly skilled volunteers.
