Bangladesh
market is mainly an import-dependent market. And because the size of this
market is large, an organization has multiple subsidiaries, they also have
branches. That is why all branches of the mother sector of agriculture like Oils
& Fats Tech, Grain Tech, Agro Tech, and Food Tech are present at the
exhibition. In short, all sectors from the farmer's farm to the consumer's
food-table are covered at the Oil & Fats Tech, Grain Tech, Agro Tech, and Food
Tech exhibition.
The
consumption of oil and fat has increased since 2015 with the economic progress
of Bangladesh and improvement in living standards and dietary habits. However, COVID-19 has wreaked havoc on the use of oils and fats, which are similar to other commodities. As a
result, consumption began to decline in 2020 compared to oil and fat imports,
which continues today. In addition, new factors such as rising food, fuel, and
freight prices resulting from the Ukraine-Russia war are exacerbating the
situation. Bangladesh had a shortage of oil and fat since the early 1960s. It
is an overpopulated country with limited land for oilseed cultivation. Oilseed
cultivation is shrinking due to competition with food and cash crops, which
require imports of about 92-93 percent of the country's annual oil and fat requirements.
In such a situation, the exhibition of "Oils and Fats" can play a
special role in the growth of the oil market.
The
famous South Asian “Green Feed & Meal Magazine” was the media partner of
these Exhibitions.
