Jashim Uddin, the new President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), said that he would take initiative to take the marginal enterprises of the district level as well as the advancing industries into the export stream. He made the remarks in an exchange of views with reporters on Thursday (May 19, 2021) after realizing the responsibility of the head of the top organization of businessmen. Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin, Vice Chairman, Bengal Group, visited his office at the FBCCI "Icon Tower" in Motijheel on Thursday after assuming official duties. He was accompanied by senior vice-president of the new board Mr. Mostafa Azad Chowdhury, vice-president Mr. MA Momen, Mr. Habib Ullah Don, Mr. Amin Helali, Mr. Aminul Haque, Mr. MA Razzak Khan and Mr. Salauddin Alamgir. The new President Mr. Md Jashim Uddin said, “I will try to make the FBCCI an effective organization for all classes of businessmen and industries. There are many marginal industries at the district level. With the right support, these can also become export-oriented industries. We will look into that. ” Noting that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has wisely taken appropriate initiatives for trade and industry in the midst of the epidemic, Mr. Jashim said that is why Bangladesh is in an advantageous economic position compared to contemporary countries. Mr. Md. Jashim Uddin was the senior vice president of the organization in 2010-12. Although one of the leaders of the Bengal Group is well known for exporting plastics, it has investments in various sectors including housing, media, readymade garments and food.
