We are currently carrying out the installation of a new corn storage facility in Bulgaria, a project that will strengthen the region’s grain storage capacity and further expand Silos Spain’s presence in Eastern Europe.
The plant includes two flat-bottom silos, model ANSI 19.86/10, each measuring 19.86 meters in diameter and 17.13 meters in total height, with an individual storage capacity of over 4,100 m³. Built from corrugated steel and coated with ProMag, these silos offer up to ten times higher resistance to corrosion compared to conventional galvanized steel, ensuring long-term reliability and durability even under demanding environmental conditions.
Ventilation and Temperature Control
To ensure the best preservation of the stored grain, the facility will feature a comprehensive ventilation system equipped with VT-1650 centrifugal fans (11 kW) and high-efficiency air vents that provide uniform airflow throughout the silos. In addition, ATEX level detectors and temperature monitoring sensors will be installed to maintain optimal storage conditions at all times.
Grain Handling System
The grain handling system has been designed for maximum efficiency, integrating TCI 100 chain conveyors with capacities of up to 250 t/h, as well as inlet and outlet hoppers, motorized slide gates, and TSB02 sweep augers, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient corn handling.
Catwalks and Support Structures
The plant also includes a network of modular catwalks and structural supports that provide safe and convenient access for operation and maintenance. The 1616 model catwalks and 19-meter-high support towers ensure stability, safety, and easy maintenance across the entire installation.
This new corn storage plant in Bulgaria represents another step forward in Silos Spain’s international growth, offering efficient, durable, and fully customized storage solutions for the European grain sector.
