Fisheries and Livestock Minister Sha M Rezaul Karim has said
that an international standard dry processing industry is being set up in Cox's
Bazar to develop the country's fisheries resources.
He was speaking as the chief guest at the inaugural function
of the office building of the Dry Processing Industry Establishment Project in
Cox's Bazar district under the implementation of Bangladesh Fisheries
Development Corporation (BFDC) on Saturday (February 12, 2022). The event was
held at a place adjacent to the BFDC Fish Landing Center.
BFDC Chairman Md. Hemayet Hussain was present as a special guest in the presidency of the Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock. Muhammad Yamin Chowdhury. Cox's Bazar-1-seat MP Zafar Alam, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock Md. Taufiqul Arif, Director General of the Bangladesh Fisheries Research Institute. Yahya Mahmud, Director General of Fisheries Department Mahbubul Haque, Cox's Bazar Deputy Commissioner Md Mamunur Rashid and Cox's Bazar Municipality Mayor Mojibur Rahman were present on the occasion.
