Great meeting with Bangladesh and Brazil national agriculture research and extension partners, including the Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), Bangladesh Wheat and Maize Research Institute (BWMRI), the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), and the Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA) confirming the importance of the CSISA (Cereal Systems Initiative for South Asia) project and the International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT)'s work on weather forecast wheat blast disease early warning systems, with support from USAID.
Our work on wheat blast is now being extended to rice blast. Excellent work assisting farmers with climate adaptation and disease management we will take forward into One CGIAR.
