Habiganj district of Bangladesh has had a bumper crop of Aman saplings this year due to favorable weather conditions. Agriculture department officials said, the field is full of crops. Meanwhile, Cyclone Sitrang hit. But the rainfall caused by Sitrang did not cause any damage but the rain water benefited the crops. Spider attacks were also less. As a result, there will be a bumper crop of saplings in Habiganj district.

According to sources of Habiganj Agricultural Extension Directorate, this year the target of Ropa Aman Abad was 80 thousand 200 hectares. However, more than 88 thousand 258 hectares have been cultivated. Among them, 703 hectares of local varieties have been planted and 107 hectares of hybrid plantations. All the remaining lands are planted with high yielding varieties of rice. This year, 13,000 hectares of land were planted with woven aman (joli aman), but all were destroyed in the flood.

After visiting the area, it was seen that the green rice in the vast crop field in Habiganj's Haor area has taken on a golden color. The crops of the field are swaying to the rhythm of the wind. Everywhere the eye goes, there is only green. Farmers are tending crops with dreams. After a few days, they will grow new crops at home. You will enjoy the joy of Navanna.

Farmer Abdur Rahman of Sanabai village of Rajiura Union of Habiganj Sadar Upazila said that this year, despite the damage of Aush due to flood, there was a good harvest due to early planting of Aman. This time there was less attack of weeds and insect spiders on the land. Due to regular rain, fertilizer was not much needed. He is hopeful that the yield will be 15 to 20 percent more per bigha than other years. He also said that he will be able to harvest the crops of his land before Agrahayan month.

Upazila Agriculture Officer Al Mamun Hasan said that the agriculture office is also active in preventing damage from the attack of Aman paddy insect.

Habiganj District Agriculture Extension Directorate Deputy Director Noore Alam Chiddiki said that due to regular and moderate rain this year, there has been a good yield of saplings. The attack of insects and spiders did not happen as well. Fertilizers are also less needed if there is rainwater. As a post-flood crop, the fertility of the land is also high. Since it is not a coastal district, Sitrang did not suffer much damage. As a result, there will be a bumper crop of saplings in this district.
