Aman cultivation has been achieved on an additional 1 thousand 150 hectares of land in the current Aman season in the district. Aman paddy has been harvested on a total of 2 lakh 72 thousand 350 hectares of land this year. At the beginning of the season, cutting and threshing of Aman paddy of early variety started in the food district Dinajpur.

Deputy Director of Dinajpur District Food Directorate, Md. Nuruzzaman Mia said that Dinajpur, which is known as the country's food-producing district, did not experience any kind of flood or natural calamity. Aman paddy harvesting and threshing started on the 15th of Bangla Kartik month. On Wednesday (November 2, 2022) and Thursday (November 3, 2022), he directly inspected the harvesting of early varieties of Aman paddy in Khanpur, Mohabbatpur, Auliapur of Dinajpur Sadar Upazila and Nanyatikar, Bilai Chandi, and Bhaber Bazar areas of neighboring Chiribandar Upazila. Talking to the farmers at this time, he was assured that the farmers expressed their happiness because of the good yield of rice this time.

Harvesting and threshing of early varieties of paddy have started. Farmers are being encouraged to cut and thresh rice with rice cutting and threshing machines provided by the Agriculture Department. The quality of paddy is getting better as cutting and threshing of paddy are done simultaneously in the field with modern machines. He said that there is a high demand in that paddy market.

He said that this district is called the grain storehouse of the country. Most of the country's rice is produced in this district. Aman paddy yielded well this year. Ripe golden rice adorns the vast fields. Farmers are busy harvesting paddy in many parts of the district. Aman paddy harvesting and threshing have started in 13 Upazilas of the district.

This year, the target of cultivation of Aman paddy was set on 2 lakh 71 thousand 200 hectares of land. An additional 1 thousand 150 hectares of Aman paddy cultivation has been achieved and a total of 2 lakh 72 thousand 350 hectares of Aman paddy has been produced. All the land that has been suitable for paddy harvesting, the laborers have gone down to harvest the paddy. The workers cut the paddy and leave it in the field to dry for 5 to 7 days. Later they tie them and take them to the householder's house and thresh them. Workers from cutting to threshing are taking 3,300 to 3,500 taka per 50 decimal. Farmers have planted more Aman paddy in the current Aman season, as paddy yield was good and prices moderate in the last Eri Boro season. New Aman Paddy is being sold in the market at Tk 1080. The yield of Aman rice like Eri rice has been good, so the farmer has a smile on his face.

Dinajpur Regional Department of Agriculture Additional Director Pradip Kumar Guha said that in the current Aman season, Aman cultivation has been achieved in an additional 1,150 hectares of land and a total of 2,72,350 hectares of Aman rice has been harvested this year. Aman paddy yield has been good due to no natural calamity. So far 10 percent of paddy has been harvested and threshed in the district.

He said that due to good quality Aman paddy seeds, timely application of fertilizer in paddy fields, proper care, and favorable weather conditions, there has been a bumper yield of paddy in this Aman season. In the 50 decimal, 35 to 40 maunds of paddy were harvested. Dinajpur Auliapur village farmer Amjat Hossain said, we have benefited by planting paddy this year. On the one hand, the yield of paddy has been good, on the other hand, we are getting a fair price. Now it will be possible to meet the demand outside the district by meeting the demand for the produced rice.

The source of Dinajpur Agriculture Directorate said that in the past half of the rice produced in the district met the food demand of the district. Due to the bumper crop produced in the last Eri-Boro and the current Aman season, more than half of the rice produced will be able to meet the demand in other districts of the country.

Bogra district has also got a bumper crop of Aman this year. The local farmers are very happy. He had hoped for a long time. Now the rice harvesting festival is going on.


According to the sources of the Bogra Agriculture Department, agricultural workers in the field are busy harvesting Aman paddy. Despite the adversity this year, farmers and district agriculture officials expect a bumper crop of Aman in Bogra. The green paddy fields are now golden. Golden rice is now heaped in the fields across a wide area. Paddy harvesting workers have started harvesting paddy in the field.

Worker Azizur Rahman said that they harvest paddy every year during the paddy season. Compared to the last few years, this year the yield of paddy has been bumper.

Farmer Rafiq Molla of Shajahanpur Upazila Kharna Union in the south of Bogra city is taking care of the workers harvesting paddy. He knew that by the grace of God, a bumper crop of paddy has been harvested. First, they fought against the drought, then the monsoon, and they succeeded.

Enamul Haque, Additional Deputy Director of the District Agriculture Extension Department, said that Aman has been cultivated in more land than the target in Bogra this time. This time the target of the District Agriculture Extension Directorate has been given in 1 lakh 81 thousand 335 hectares of land. But last season due to the good price of paddy, the farmers cultivated Aman in 1 thousand 139 hectares more than the target of the agriculture department. In all, 1 lakh 83 thousand 474 hectares of land have been cultivated. So the district agriculture officials are expecting Aman's production target to be exceeded as well.
