‘Bangladesh can export fish vegetables to Nepal’

[caption id="attachment_3862" align="aligncenter" width="1014"] Bangladeshi fish, Picture: Collected[/caption] “In winter, Bangladesh can export fish and vegetables. I always advocate transit for Nepal through India,” she said when visiting Nepal foreign minister Pradip Kumar Gyawali met her at her office. Prime Minister's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the meeting. Regarding cooperation on electricity, the Prime Minister said that India could invest in hydropower generation in Nepal through a tripartite initiative so that Bangladesh could buy it from Nepal. She said Bangladesh was already buying electricity from India. Sheikh Hasina said Bangladesh always gives priority to cooperation with neighboring countries including Nepal. She said Nepal and Bhutan could use it because of upgrading Chattogram and Mongla ports and Saidpur airport as a regional port. Mentioning about the Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal (BBIN) Initiative, she said, “We understand the problems of landlocked country.” The Prime Minister recalled Bangladesh's support for Nepalese during the 1971 Liberation War. "We are interested in raising the level of our economic partnership", he added that Nepal and Bangladesh share similar views. Pradip Kumar Gyawali praised Sheikh Hasina's leadership for rapid socio-economic development of Bangladesh under her able and dynamic leadership. The Nepalese Minister informed the Prime Minister about his extensive and fruitful meeting with Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen and Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi during his visit to Bangladesh. Principal Secretary Ahmed Kaikaus, Bangladesh Ambassador to Nepal Mashfee Binte Shams and Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Banshidhar Mishra were also present. Source: Online/SZK
