Weather change slows the harvesting of CBH

The changing weather conditions were experienced throughout the region with hot and windy weather on weekends, resulting in some crop restrictions. If the ban is lifted, good and dry weather is created in good harvesting conditions early in the week, after which cool weather slows the crop's progress in some regions. “We had our largest week to date, receiving 1.9 million tons, but this was lower than it could have been given cooler weather over the last few days,” said Ben Macnamara, general manager of operations at CBH. Wheat tons have increased this week with around 2 million tons in the system. “Whilst deliveries are down, given the smaller crop, site enhancements that we made prior to harvest are seeing some significant improvements in site cycle times, for example at Moonyoonooka, Wickepin and Merredin,” Macnamara said. CDF distributions still load about 90% of the total distributed through the app across the network. Source: Online/SZK
