The farmer himself will sell the eggs, chicken and poultry feed produced on his farm. On the one hand, the violence of the middlemen will be reduced, on the other hand, the farmers will also get a fair price for their produce, said AHM Safikuzzaman, Director General of the National Consumer Rights Protection Directorate.

On December 31, 2023, he inaugurated this sale program at Shanir Akhra Gobindpur market in the capital. The sale will be conducted under the auspices of the Directorate of Consumer Affairs and the initiative of the Bangladesh Poultry Association (BPA). Mohammad Abdul Jabbar Mandal, assistant director of the Directorate's Dhaka district office, and Sumon Hawladar, president of Bangladesh Poultry Association, were guests of honor on the occasion. Members of the Bangladesh Poultry Association, the President of the Shanir Akhra Bazaar Committee and other traders were present at this time.

In the speech of the chief guest, AHM Safikuzzaman said, that due to our faulty marketing system, the price of the same product changes hands and increases. Middlemen create artificial crises by disrupting the supply chain and increasing the price of goods. As a result of this initiative, the marginal farmers will get an opportunity to directly sell the eggs and chicken produced on their farms here. There will be no violence against middlemen. He said, consumers can buy chicken and eggs directly from here at a fair price. In this context, he gave the example of Khilgaon meat trader Mohammad Khalilur Rahman and said that due to the brave initiative of Khalil Saheb, beef has come within the purchasing power of consumers. He expressed hope that as a result of this initiative of the Bangladesh Poultry Association, relief will return to the egg and chicken market.

President of Bangladesh Poultry Association Suman Howladar said this activity has been undertaken to break the syndicate in the egg and chicken market. He said big corporate traders produce poultry feed and sell it to farmers at high prices. As a result, the marginal farmers become helpless. He informed me about providing self-made poultry feed to marginal farmers at a relatively low cost. At that time, he announced that eggs produced by farmers from this farm would be sold at the retail level at 10 taka per piece and broiler chicken at 175 kg. He said that this program will be expanded to 10 important markets of Dhaka city.
