Renata Limited has brought 'folate eggs' for the first time
in the country's market to meet the demand for vitamin B9 or folate. Folate
eggs contain 35 percent more folate or vitamin B9 than regular eggs.
This information was informed in a press release sent by the
company.
One of the various vitamins in eggs is vitamin B9 or folate.
Folate plays a role in breaking down food into nutrients, increasing blood
cells and developing DNA-RNA. For this reason, folate is considered an
essential nutrient for children and pregnant women.
Many people take folic acid supplements to meet the body's folate needs. But these supplements have to go through several chemical processes to be converted into folate in the body. For this reason, experts recommend consuming folate-rich foods directly.
The folate found in eggs is essentially a modified form of
folic acid added to chicken feed. But chicken stomach acid destroys a large
part of that folic acid. Therefore, the amount of folate in normal eggs is relatively
low. Renata's nutraceuticals division Purnava has brought 'folate eggs' for the
first time in the country's market.
A clinical trial conducted at Renata's Farm in Valuka found
that Purnavar's folate eggs contained 75 micrograms of folate. It is 35 percent
more than normal eggs. According to Renata, Purnavar's folate eggs are
regularly tested in the laboratory by high performance liquid chromatography.
