ShellFoss launched mineral feed for eggshell stability 

Vilofoss, a manufacturer of premixes and mineral feed for feed production, has introduced its latest innovation for the poultry industry: ShellFoss mineral feed, designed to optimise eggshell stability, specifically for laying hens, providing protection against cracked and misshapen eggs, particularly during the hens’ later laying stages. The specialized feed is also suitable for use in parent stocks.

Ovo-Vision enters partnership with Innovia Consulting

ERP egg business software solutions company Ovo-Vision has announced a partnership with Innovia Consulting to expand its software services and client onboarding capabilities in North America and Mexico. As part of this collaboration, Ovo-Vision will enhance its existing US team, leveraging Innovia Consulting’s expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and industry-specific knowledge.

TPI-Polytechniek introduces the ECC500 for the safe transportation of eggs

TPI-Polytechniek, a producer and supplier of ventilation components for the agricultural sector, has launched its latest innovation, the ECC500, developed to help companies transport eggs safely and efficiently without compromising on quality or cost. The ECC500 fits various transport systems and can easily handle bends, inclines, and other transport challenges. 

Alveo Technologies furthers developments in bird flu diagnostics

Public health laboratories in the US that are equipped to test for avian influenza in humans are limited. Alveo Technologies has, therefore, received an agreement issued by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop a rapid, molecular, point-of-need diagnostic to detect and differentiate between Influenza A + B, and A/H5 in humans. The company has also announced the launch of its first animal health diagnostic product, the Alveo Sense Avian Influenza Test. The product is launching in partnership with Netherlands-based Royal GD and UK-based x-OvO. The first shipments are now reaching early-access customers across the EU with further expansion planned throughout the EMEA region.

Targan secures European contract with Poland’s IKO Kompania Drobiarska

Animal agtech company Targan has confirmed a new contract with IKO Kompania Drobiarska (IKO) for the installation of the WingScan automated feather-sexing system. IKO, a fully integrated poultry producer in Poland, is one of the first in Europe to integrate WingScan into its hatchery. The system offers a throughput of 40,000-160,000 chicks per hour with up to 98% accuracy. 

Boehringer Ingelheim launches next-generation poultry vaccine in India

Boehringer Ingelheim has launched a next-generation vaccine against Marek’s disease in India. This represents a breakthrough in vaccine engineering, according to the company, and is recommended for in-ovo vaccination of 18 to 19-day-old embryonated chicken eggs and day-old chickens to protect against the virulent Marek’s disease.

Techna unveils nutrition and natural health innovations

Techna has launched Gallicalm in its ‘Feedia’ range: a premix of additives composed of active plant ingredients designed to reduce stress in poultry rearing, and to limit deviant behaviour such as pecking between birds, which can lead to feather loss, injuries and even serious complications such as cannibalism.

Vaxxinova receives EU marketing approval for ND vaccine

The European Commission has granted Vaxxinova EU marketing authorisation for the poultry vaccine Vaxxon ND Clone, a live freeze-dried vaccine for active immunisation of chickens (broilers, future layers and breeders) to reduce mortality and clinical signs of disease caused by infection with Newcastle Disease virus. This is the first EU-licensed poultry vaccine for Vaxxinova in the European market. 

Veos Group acquires OvaInnovations’ activities

Veos Group has acquired the activities of OvaInnovations, a producer of inedible egg proteins. The company will now have production capabilities in the US. The acquisition aligns with the Actipro brand, VEOS Group’s brand for functional proteins designed to support the feed and pet food industries.

Ceva invests in new vaccine manufacturing plant

Ceva Animal Health has unveiled its latest investment in European vaccine manufacturing with the construction of a new facility in Hungary, expanding the capacity of Ceva Phylaxia. This 7,000 sqm unit has been established in Monor, Hungary, where Ceva will produce fermentation-based multicomponent inactivated vaccines for animals. See more.
