In Jhalkathi, combine harvester machines have been distributed to farmers at a 50% subsidized price with government assistance.
Three combine harvester machines were given to local farmers under the Agricultural Mechanization Scheme under the slogan 'Krishyi Samriddhi' through integrated management. Jhalkathi Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Khan Arifur Rahman handed over the keys of the harvester machine along with the documents to the farmers on December 28, 2023.
Under the chairmanship of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Anuja Mandal at the Sadar Upazila Parishad premises, female vice-chairman of the Parishad Israt Jahan Sonali, Upazila Agriculture Officer Ali Ahmed, Upazila Social Service Officer Asaduzzaman Palash and officials of the Agriculture Department were present at the harvester machine distribution ceremony.
It is noted that this combine harvester paddy cutting machine is distributed at a 50% subsidized price to help farmers in agricultural work by the initiative of the Directorate of Agricultural Extension in Jhalkathi Sadar Upazila. Although the price of each machine is 32 lakh taka, the government has given a subsidy of 15 lakh 50 thousand taka for each machine.
