China reduced some measure on certain pet food imports

Pet food exported as canned compound feed ( wet food), and other pet snacks as well as sterilized canned pet food from avian origin countries will not be affected by Avian-related measures related to the epidemic and will be allowed to be exported to China. This is according to China’s General Administration of Customs announcement in early February.

This is good news to companies who have experienced being blocked from exporting pet food to China due to the poultry ingredient ban.

At the moment there are 19 countries that have been approved to export pet food to China, These countries include; Germany, the Czech Republic, Italy, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, the United States, Argentina, Brazil, Canada, New Zealand, Austria, Spain, the Philippines, Australia Krygyzstan, Uzbekistan, Thailand, and Denmark.

Prior to the ban lifting the exported pet snacks don’t need to apply for a product license( MARA license) which is issued by the Ministry of Agricultural and Rural Affairs for the People’s Republic of China ignorer to enter China market. However, the pet snack factory needs to be listed on the Custom list( white list) from the General Administration of the People’s Republic of China.
