On Tuesday (June 23, 2020), the Chinese Ministry of Agriculture issued genetically modified (GM) protection certificates for two new varieties of soybean imports. Which is a sign of further restrictions on GM crops in the world’s largest grain market.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs has renewed the safety certificates for six more GM crops - five for maize and one for soybean - for imports, according to a statement on their website.
