Besides Halal meat, the government will also provide cash
assistance to the export of meat products. 20 percent subsidy will be given on
export of such products. This product has been added to the list of cash
assistance in the current financial year 2022-23. Bangladesh Bank informed
about this decision of the government in a notification on September 20, 2022.
Like the last financial year, the government will provide cash assistance ranging from 1 to 20 percent against the export of various types of products of 43 sectors. In the last financial year 2021-22, tea, domestically manufactured bicycles and their parts, domestically manufactured MS steel products and domestically manufactured cement sheets were covered under the export incentive or cash assistance, which has been maintained this time as well.
Prior to this new product/new market expansion, the subsidy was given at the rate of 4 percent. This time also it has been maintained. Previously, cash assistance was given in countries other than the US, Canada and the EU. This time the United Kingdom has also joined it. Cash support will not be given to new products or markets in these four countries.
