A highlight at GEAPSExchange in Kansas City was presenting 10 awards to
industry colleagues. It was great to honor these winners together, but they
each deserve a moment in the sun. We will be honoring each of the award winners
individually over the coming weeks.
Steve Myers, an elevator superintendent for Bunge Milling, was presented with the
International Member of Distinction Award. The award recognizes members who
have made extraordinary contributions to advancing GEAPS’ mission. These are people
who not only work to make a difference for their local chapter, but who work
for the greater good of GEAPS as an organization. Individuals given this honor
are grain industry professionals who consistently demonstrate volunteer
leadership qualities that epitomize GEAPS’ core values.
Name a leadership role at GEAPS—from the chapter level to the
International Board of Directors—chances are, Steve Myers has been in it. While
his time on the board has passed, Steve is still active on many levels. A member
of the Kansas City chapter, the membership committee and the Host Advisory
Council, Steve continues to give his time to the people and mission of GEAPS.
He also serves on the GEAPS Foundation board. An active and engaged
member Steve’s service to GEAPS has been described as a model example for GEAPS
leaders.
Congratulations, Steve!
