U.S. is the 2nd largest investor in terms of implemented project for the period 1980-2019

The US is the 2nd largest investor (after Japan) in terms of implemented project for the period 1980 - 2019. For the period 1980 - 2019, a total of 834 manufacturing projects with participation by US companies were implemented with realized investments valued at RM84.8 billion and 204,379 job opportunities. Implemented projects from the US are mainly in the following industries: E&E, Petroleum & Petrochemicals, Machinery and Equipment, Chemicals and Transport Equipment. Currently there are more than 600 US companies operating in Malaysia. US companies also have a strong foothold in the services sector. They include Financial services, Oil & Gas Sector and Regional Operations. Today, Western Digital, a digital storage company has announced that it will expand its current capacity with additional investment of RM2.3 billion that will provide 2,000 additional job opportunities for Malaysians. This is a testimony of continued foreign investor confidence on Malaysia's investment climate, comprehensive E&E ecosystem and global value chain.
