Why we eat rice, not less, not more, should be eaten in moderation

Experts say that the food of a country depends on the climate, lifestyle, crops, and traditions of that country. Due to climatic reasons, rice is cultivated in almost all parts of Bangladesh, rice is easily available compared to other food crops and people of this country eat more rice as it can be eaten once cooked. At the same time, due to the socio-economic condition of the people of Bangladesh, people prefer to eat rice.

Rice is not our only food but our main food. Needless to say, we need some curry to complement our rice meal. Those curries are cooked with oil and spices in such a way that it makes eating rice easy and enjoyable. Sometimes the curry has so much spice that you can eat a little more rice with less curry. The goal is actually to eat our rice. We often forget that it is absolutely necessary to take essential nutrients along with the intake of sugars, meats, oils or fats, vitamins, and minerals. That's why for ages, rice is the main food and other food arrangements. That is why we have become 'Veto Bengali'.

Another proof of how much we love rice is that thousands of varieties of rice have been selected and cultivated in this country. All the different varieties of rice were selected by the farmers according to the area. These varieties were different from each other in taste, smell, color, and shape. These breeds had various characteristics. According to the calculations of scientists, the number of rice varieties in this country was 8 thousand to 15 thousand. It is easy to imagine what deep affection for rice our forefathers had for a long time preserving so many varieties.

Every person should have a certain amount of balanced food on their daily food list. That is a balanced diet, the main part of the diet will be carbohydrate or white food, along with meat or protein food, fat or fat food, as well as vitamins and minerals, and water. All this together is a balanced meal.

In our country, the main carbohydrate or white foods are rice, bread, and chhatu. In other countries of the world including our country, rice is one of the main sources of carbohydrates. So it's not a matter of eating more or less, a person's diet should consist of 50 to 55 percent carbohydrates. Eating less of it will cause malnutrition in his body and eating more will cause imbalance. That is, the rice should be eaten as much as needed, not more or less.

In Bangladesh, we have not developed any other food habit as an alternative to rice. In our country, fish is produced in canals and rice everywhere, so we are Bengali with fish and rice. As

As a result, it will not be normal for a Bengali to stop eating rice and turn it into another food habit.
