In the district this year, the farmer's paddy fields are filled with Aman paddy. Agrahayan's paddy harvest is almost over. The farmers are busy with the new rice pita-puli festival.

The yield of paddy has been good this year. In Kushtia, 88 thousand 919 hectares of paddy were cultivated in the current season after achieving the target. From which 3 lakh 16 thousand 551 tons of rice will be produced. However, due to an increase in the price of fertilizers, pesticides and oil, the cost of production in paddy cultivation has increased. 8,000 to 10,000 taka per bigha of land has been spent. The yield is 17 to 20 maunds per bigha. In some cases more.

Although the farmers are happy, all the farmers of the area, including farmer Jinarul Islam, demand an increase in the price of rice. The smell of new rice is filled with the smell of the farmer. Farmers are now busy with the Navanna festival. Various types of pitha-puli are being organized. Children and teenagers are also excited by the smell of pitha-puli.

Daulatpur Agriculture Officer Mohammad Nurul Islam and Deputy Director of District Agriculture Extension Directorate Dr. Hayat Mahmud said that the farmers will benefit by providing improved varieties of rice, training and incentives among the farmers. Farmers are the life of this country. Therefore, everyone thinks that if the fair price of agricultural products produced by farmers is ensured, the production of agriculture will increase.
