[caption id="attachment_2719" align="aligncenter" width="1014"]Ukraine is expecting to harvest the record File Photo[/caption] GFMM desk: Successful farmers say they expect to collect a record amount of wheat and barley this time, according to the Ukrainian Ministry of Agriculture. Ukraine is expecting to harvest a record 71.8 million tons, up from 70.1 million tons, with higher quantities of wheat and barley. The harvest is expected to include 28.1 million tons of wheat, up from 24.6 million tons in 2018 and 8.9 million tons of barley, up from 7.3 million tons. The ministry said the corn crop could drop to 32.8 million tons from 35.8 million tons harvested a year earlier. Ukraine has harvested 58.9 million tons of grain as of October 21. Yield is averaging 4.5 tons per hectare compared to 4.16 tons last year. Ukraine is the sixth largest producer of corn, growing 39 million tons a year.
