At the meeting, Tereza Cristina emphasized that only 2.3% of the Amazon area was used for agricultural production and 10.5% for livestock, meaning that more than 85% of bio-me was saved. She noted that Brazil will spread the no-till system model, which has been widely used in the country in recent decades. Because it has less impact on the soil and provides more productive produce for growers. At the end of the meeting, the Minister reiterated that a balance between productivity and sustainability in agriculture is necessary. Apart from this defense, agriculture cannot be identified as the villain of the environmental problems that have come upon the earth. The ministers have signed a final declaration so that they are committed to finding sustainable farming to meet global demand for food. After the commitment in Germany ended the minister left for India. Earlier, Tereza Cristina started a position in Italy for a bilateral meeting at the local agriculture ministry. In Berlin, Tereza Cristina holds a bilateral meeting with Argentina, the Netherlands, the World Trade Organization (WTO) and FAO Director General Dongyu Qi on Friday (January 17, 2020).
