So mugdal may be the new item to earn foreign currency. Now the farmers of southwestern country are producing high quality mogdals by using modern technology. The finest and big granules of this mugdal has been exported to in developed countries including Japan. Sprout soup of Japanese favorite food is made in this mugdal. Because of the demand in the world market, the commerce ministry has allowed the export of large granary mugdals. Recently, the Ministry of Commerce has sent a letter regarding the approval of the bigger grain Mugdal to the Office of the Chief Import and Export Controller. The paper signed by Senior Assistant Secretary Nazneen Parvin said that the Global Agro Resource Incorporation has been allowed to export 500 tons of big granary Mugdal in light of export policy 2018-19. The size of this mugdal will be around 3 millimeters or larger. The terms and conditions mentioned in the letter say; 1. The export policy of exporting 500 tons of large grains Mugdal must be followed 2. To facilitate the physical examination of the customs authorities, the large export of large grains to be packaged in Mogdal Transparent packets. 3. After exporting the mugdal, all the export paper will be required to be submitted to the Export Branch of the Ministry of Commerce. 4. This period of approval for export of large grain mugdal will remain in effect until June 30, 2020. The letter was sent to the Ministry of Commerce, NBR, Export Promotion Bureau - EPB, Department of Agricultural Extension, Dhaka and ICD Customs House and Chief Executive Officer of Global Agro Resources Incorporation. This mugdal is exported from Patuakhali, Jhenaidah, Chuadanga, Magura and Jessore in the southwestern districts of the country. However, about 75 percent of the country's total production is produced in Patuakhali. It is learned that the International Agricultural Development Fund- the Rural Reconstruction Foundation (RRF) is providing assistance to farmers for the better cultivation of mugdals for the export of IFAD. 10 thousand farmers of Jhenaidah, Chuadanga, Magura and Jessore districts have cultivated mugdal. Bio Fertilizer is being used for seed plantation and cultivation. Export will also increase if mugdal cultivation is increased. In that case, new directions of export trade could be created. ---
